Leigh Guided Busway opens to Passengers!

On Sunday 3rd April The 4.5 Guided Busway between Leigh Tyldesley and Ellenbrook opened to Passengers, This is the first Guided Busway to be opened in the North West of England.

First Manchester have been chosen to operate the Two Bus Services that will use the Guided Busway, The Services are the V1 Service from Leigh to Manchester and the V2 from Atherton to Manchester, Both Services will operate at a frequency of 15 Minutes Monday to Saturday Daytime and every 30 Minutes on Evenings and Sundays.

To Operate the Two Services First ordered Twenty Wright Eclipse Gemini 3s, The Buses come fitted with Leather Seats, Free WI-FI, USB charger ports And Two Tables on the top Deck

As part of the Guided Busway Three Park and Ride sites have been built along the route to try and get people out of their Cars, A Path has also been built alongside the Busway for people to Walk and Cycle down (See 1st Photo).
