Bus Services in West Lancashire under Threat!

Bus Services Across West Lancashire are under threat of being cut back or withdrawn as the County Council plan to withdraw/reduce funding Evening/Sunday Bus Services from May 18th 2014. The routes affected are:

12A Penwortham - New Longton - Longton- Tarleton and Ormskirk
113 Preston Bus Station - Chorley Bus Station - Wigan Bus Station
300 Southport - Bootle - Liverpool
375 Southport - Ormskirk - Skelmersdale - Wigan
611/612 Wigan Bus Station - Wrightington Hospital
695 Wigan - Upholland (Night Bus)

The Green Party say “These decisions on transport that will affect the most vulnerable and disadvantaged. It will be young people, pensioners and the unwaged that will be hit hardest".

Here at the 2002 Bus Group we understand that if these services are Withdrawn or cut back there is no other Bus Service you could switch to along most of these routes so it is important that if these proposed Service changes affect you then you should contact Sophie Mc coid on her E.mail  mccoid@trinitymirror.com.
