Today (19/1/13) i decided i would go into Greater Manchester and have some right on South Lancs services as they have loads of different types of buses in their fleet.
I started the day by using Arriva buses to St Helens and then to Wigan Bus Station.
The first bus i got on was Wright Meridian reg M444 SLT and fleetnumber 54 on service 132 from Wigan to The Trafford Centre.
I like Meridians as in my opinion they have a great engine in them and this one did not disappoint, the bus was very clean inside and very comfy aswell. I was really glad to get this on a 132
I was not waiting long before this Wright Solar reg plate S26 SLT fleet number 76 turned up, this is my personal Favorite bus in the SLT fleet so i went on for a ride.
The bus is still perfect just like i remember it! it was really comfy and it was also rattle free, the bus was fast of the line with a lovely kick down noise each time the driver put his foot down, i cant find anything wrong with this brilliant bus
When i got to Leigh i seen this bus ready to depart so i ran over and jumped on this Scania Omnicity reg plate S400 SLT with the fleet number 72
I have mixed feelings with this bus as it was fast and its power was great, it was also rattle free however the buses seats was rock hard, if this was improved then this bus would be faultless
After arriving in Bolton i nipped for food then decided to get the next 581 back to Leigh and that bus was a Wright Solar reg plate S27 SLT with the fleetnumber 77
the bus was quiet and was rattle free, i enjoyed the quiet and calm ride to Leigh.
Once i arrived in Leigh i noticed D10 SLT on the layover so i decided to get this on service 126 to The Trafford Centre this bus is an Optare Olympus with the fleetnumber of 79
The first thing i picked up about this bus is it rattles a bit when idle and going over bumps in the road, the bus was also a bit cold however i did fine the bus very comfy so it was not all bad
Once i got to The Trafford Centre i decided to start heading home so i jumped on Wright Meridian M444 SLT on service 132 to wigan,
the bus was the same as stated before however the driver on the bus is known for putting his foot down on the motorway and he sure did today.
